So Tom Holland is Peter Parker!!!
This is not a review. The movie does not deserve me to spoil it. See it on the big screen you want.
All the shows for Spiderman were sold out at the spot. The one at 7:05 p.m. and then the one at 8 p.m. Consequently, I had to wait an extra two hours. When I thought about it, it made little sense. Seeing the movie later in the week would have made everything else mad complicated. I was really into 3-D. This went on for ten minutes. I was going to have to cancel tomorrow's plans. Then I thought, "I need to work". I decided as I looked at my week: "now or never". It was worth it.
I killed time by going to MCDee's and then I talk to friends for about an hour. While I was on the phone, an Uber driver drove on the sidewalk in front of me to the movie theater. It was an obvious area for pedestrians-- a mini park. Me and the teen couple across from me just kind of looked at each other in disbelief. They kept staring at me and laughing at this guy. I had thought: "what if he had hit someone?" It was actually funny. I later asked the two teens who jumped out if it was 5-star service. They thought at first I was trying to chat them up. They were still in shock. They laughed and intimated it hadn't been 5-star service. Haha!!
This is no spoiler. That's not me. I am way behind with all my shows-- too many spoilers. Dolt!! I will watch them anyway. So like I'm not going to give it away.... But as a Spidey fan, I've waited a long time to see someone actually play Peter Parker. Yeah, there have been lots of close calls but Tom Holland really did it. I wasn't even a teenager when I started collecting Spidey. I almost wrote I was. Haha!!
The whole cast was really really good!!! There were many surprises as far as who actually is in the movie. We'll leave it there. Actually, pleasant surprises they were.... I know it sounds really vague, but I don't want to do a hardcore review and spoil anyone's experience. When I'm considering seeing a movie, I generally go and see it-- unless I'm on the fence. I don't really do a lot of reading about the movie or any kind of prep. The same thing goes for Justice League and Black Panther. There's no talking I need to do about those movies. I am just going to see them.
All the high school hijinks of early Spiderman comics are in the movie. That was really authentic. So many of the other Spider-man movies skip over the high school bit, which gave me no reason to see some of them.
I think I'll probably do a follow up in like a few weeks when more people have seen the movie. Maybe in a couple weeks.... Then I guess I'll spoil it a little bit. I can already see some people will say it's way multiculti. People complain to complain. The core characters are May and Peter. They were most authentic I have seen them in any Spider-Man representation outside of the comic book. Marissa did an awesome job and Tom came off as Peter Parker to the fullest. I can't say anything more without messing up all the surprises.
I would just prefer you guys just go and see it. The writing was really good!! Awesome!!! The beginning for me was a little bit slow. The first 10 or 15 minutes dragged a bit. That's enough for part 1. Homecoming is an apt title. They finally came as close to the comic as they could get. In some ways, Hollywood may do like Star Wars. Stay tuned!!!
