SABBATH PRAYER (INCLUDING SORA 2)

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with humble hearts, grateful for the teachings of Your Son. We ask that You shape us into the people Jesus described in His Sermon on the Mount. Make us poor in spirit so that we always recognize our need for You; comfort us when we mourn and draw near to the brokenhearted. Grant us meekness and a hunger and thirst for righteousness that can only be satisfied in You.

Teach us to be merciful as You are merciful, pure in heart so that we may see You, and peacemakers who reflect Your peace in a world full of strife. Strengthen those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake and remind them of the kingdom blessings You
promise.

Help us to be salt and light, preserving truth and illuminating the darkness around us. As You reveal the depth of Your law, lead us to rest in Christ, the One who fulfilled it on our behalf. Remove anger, lust, deceit and retaliation from our lives; replace them with forgiveness, integrity and love for our enemies.

Guide us in prayer and fasting that are sincere rather than hypocritical. Help us to trust You alone for our daily needs, remembering that we cannot serve both God and money. Free us from anxiety about tomorrow by teaching us to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness.

When we are tempted to judge others, remind us to extend the same grace we hope to receive. Empower us to live out the Golden Rule — to do to others what we would have them do to us. Protect us from false teaching and lead us on the narrow way that leads to life.

Finally, Lord, give us wisdom to build our lives on the rock of Your Word. Let our faith be resilient when storms come, rooted in the authority and grace of Jesus. May His words transform us from the inside out so that our thoughts, words and actions reflect Your kingdom.

We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
