A Prayer for Giving of Myself to the Less Fortunate

Heavenly Father,
You are the source of all that I have,
And I know that none of it is mine to keep forever.

You see those who are struggling—
Those with empty tables,
Worn shoes,
And broken dreams.
And You call me to see them too.

Lord, open my heart to feel what You feel.
Make me uncomfortable with comfort
Until I use my blessings to lift someone else.

Give me the courage to give—
Even when it stings,
Even when I feel like I don’t have enough myself.

Let me give not for recognition,
Not out of guilt,
But out of love—because You gave first.

Help me give money when it’s needed,
Time when it’s missing,
Presence when someone feels forgotten.
Let me not walk past hunger or suffering
With excuses in my heart.

Make me a vessel, Lord—
A channel through which Your mercy flows.
Break any chains of greed or fear
That keep me from releasing what’s already Yours.

And when I give, remind me:
I’m not losing—I’m planting.
I’m not sacrificing—I’m honoring You.
And what I release from my hand
You can multiply in ways I’ll never see.

Make me generous, Lord,
Even when the world teaches scarcity.
Make me a giver,
Because You are the Giver of all.

Amen.
