A Prayer for the Spiritually Curious
Lord, someone is reading a Bible tonight for the first time, in a bedroom lit by a laptop. You have known this hour of theirs since before the world was made (Ephesians 1:4). Be to them what you were to Nicodemus in the dark (John 3:1–2). Be to them what you were to the Athenians at the altar to an unknown god (Acts 17:23). They are asking honest questions. Do not send them a religious answer. Come yourself (Revelation 3:20). Whoever seeks, finds (Matthew 7:7); whoever comes to you will not be cast out (John 6:37). Meet them at the door with the same words your Son spoke: Come and see (John 1:39). And for me — help me not to scare them off with the parts of the church that would not have followed you either. Amen.
Wear the prayer God x Science — for the seeker who is not afraid of the hard questions.
