A Prayer When Anxiety Won't Let Go

A Prayer When Anxiety Won't Let Go

Father of every trembling thing, you who count the sparrow as it falls and number the hairs the wind takes from my head — you see this fear coiled tight beneath my ribs. I cannot reason it away. I cannot pray it small. But I can lay it open at your feet the way Hezekiah spread the letter on the temple floor (2 Kings 19:14). Read what I cannot read. Answer what I cannot answer. Cast my care on you, because you care for me (1 Peter 5:7), and let your peace, which outruns my understanding (Philippians 4:7), keep watch at the gate of my heart tonight. In Jesus' name, Amen.
