From Gossip to Gratitude: Psalm 12 on Protecting Your Spirit

From Gossip to Gratitude: Psalm 12 on Protecting Your Spirit

So, you know, it's very easy to worry about things that aren't important. What's really to do is to stay in a place of gratitude and love regarding what comes up around you. God's grace is invariably what you'll find is that the world can easily contaminate your life.

Like people enjoy gossip yet know they shouldn't gossip. People often flatter themselves but know they shouldn't flatter themselves. People often focus on graven images.

I did a post for social media where I was realizing that it's very easy even when you have a lot of bills to turn these in. To actual things that have as much power as God. Or even for example, you might look at your bank account and be dismayed at the things that happen or the things that you wish would happen, and these are all sort of like traps in and of themselves.

Psalm 12

For the director of music. According to sheminith.[b] A psalm of David.
Help, Lord, for no one is faithful anymore;
    those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.
Everyone lies to their neighbor;
    they flatter with their lips
    but harbor deception in their hearts.
May the Lord silence all flattering lips
    and every boastful tongue—
those who say,
    “By our tongues we will prevail;
    our own lips will defend us—who is lord over us?”
“Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan,
    I will now arise,” says the Lord.
    “I will protect them from those who malign them.”
And the words of the Lord are flawless,
    like silver purified in a crucible,
    like gold[c] refined seven times.
You, Lord, will keep the needy safe
    and will protect us forever from the wicked,
who freely strut about
    when what is vile is honored by the human race.
