Deliverance from the Mire: A Prayer based on Psalm 69

Deliverance from the Mire: A Prayer based on Psalm 69

Heavenly Father, we come before You, seeking refuge in the shadow of Your wings. We find ourselves sinking in the mire of our troubles, overwhelmed by the waves of adversity that crash over us. Yet, we take comfort in the knowledge that You are our Savior, our Deliverer, our Refuge in times of need.

Like David in Psalm 69, we cry out to You, "Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold." We have been persecuted, slandered, and scorned, but we trust in Your unfailing love, in Your steadfast promise to deliver the righteous.

We thank You for hearing our prayer, for not turning a deaf ear to our cries. We thank You for Your mercy, for not punishing us according to our sins. We thank You for Your grace, for giving us strength in our weakness.

In our darkest moments, remind us of Your faithfulness. When we feel abandoned, help us remember Your love. When we are overwhelmed, grant us the peace that surpasses all understanding.

As we wait for Your deliverance, help us to trust in Your perfect timing. May we always turn to You in our troubles, and may our faith be strengthened through our trials. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Scriptures to read: Psalm 69, Psalm 40:1-3, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
