Prayer for Forgiveness - The Ultimate Act of Grace
Share
In the quietude that fills this moment, every heart-strained sigh,
We gather close, our souls united, as secrets we can't hide,
Speak from a place deep within, a place of pure humility,
A place that tells our deepest truths, pleading for the kindness of forgiveness.
Oh divine Father, our Creator, Lord of love immeasurable,
We ask, with humble hearts, for understanding to discern all,
The wounds that plague our hearts, the pain that beats beneath,
The scars that threaten to divide us, to separate body and soul.
As involving us as adversaries, we stand in conflict and turmoil,
Victims of aggression, bitterness, anger and affront,
Feeling the weight of blame, the pain of a wound that's festered,
Drowning in an ocean of resentment, an unjust perspective.
But we seek solace, we yearn for peace, we desire the power to forgive,
For even we ourselves, have wronged others, and need to absolve,
To let go of the ties that bind us, to allow healing to prevail,
To let love conquer all the hate that distances the feelings from the soul.
For it is You, O Lord, who teaches love, who guides us through the dark,
Who whispers encouragement, who shows us the path that's ours, a beacon to hesitant souls.
Within the teachings of the word, we discover the power to forgive,
To show compassion, to extend grace, for love transcends all penance.
So therefore, dear Father, in Your mercy, we pray to release the chains,
To release the poison that infects our love, to let Your kindness heal,
To let go of the grudges, to embrace the sense of unity,
To open our hearts, our minds, our souls, to love unconditionally.
For we know You, O Lord, are the healer, the provider, the guide,
The soul of strength, the source of everlasting grace, who never falters nor masks,
But only loves, forgives, and offers whispers of wisdom, of hope, of declare
That in forgiveness we find peace, that in your love, we're healed at last.
So we ask, O loving Father, grant us the wisdom, the strength, to mend the broken bonds,
To let go of the animosity, to show mercy, to be meek, to embody the teachings of You.
We humbly lay our desires before You, all of our wrongs and the hurt we have done,
That in Your mercy, our sins be absolved, our burdens lift, our hearts heal, and be made new.
In Your name, O Holy One, we ask for forgiveness, to learn the lessons, the healing strength that comes from your embrace.
Let us live in the love and compassion, to let love conquer all, to see the world through forgiveness and grace.
Amen.
