God, Our Sovereign Lord

Heavenly Father, we come before you today, acknowledging Your sovereignty and majesty. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the One who was, who is, and who is to come.
We stand in awe of Your greatness, for You are above all things, visible and invisible. You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One who holds the oceans in the hollow of Your hand and who measures the heavens with the span of Your hand.
You are the One who turns the hearts of kings like channels of water, who makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. You break the bow and shatter the spear; You burn the shields with fire.
You are our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.
You are the One who gives and takes away, blessed be Your name. You are the One who works all things together for the good of those who love You, who have been called according to Your purpose.
In the face of trials and tribulations, help us to remember that You are greater than anything we could ever face. You are our Provider, our Healer, our Comforter, our Protector, our Savior, our King.
May we always live in the light of Your truth, walking in Your ways, and trusting in Your promises. For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, now and forever. Amen.
Scriptures to read: Psalm 46, Isaiah 40:12-31, Romans 8:28-39.
