A Deep Prayer for Going Deeper Into Prayer
Lord of the Secret Place,
You call to me in whispers beneath the noise—
not with shouts, but with stillness.
And yet I’ve stayed on the surface:
prayers that skim the skin but never touch the soul.
But today, I come trembling,
not just to speak, but to surrender.
Not just to ask, but to dwell.
Not just to be heard, but to be changed.
Draw me deeper, Lord.
Bury the shallow habits.
Flood the dry ground of routine with living water.
Take me beyond repetition into communion,
past fear into fire, past duty into delight.
Teach me to wait—not with boredom,
but with breath held holy in the hush of Your presence.
Unfold the layers of my heart like petals
and pour Your presence into the core of me.
Let my prayers no longer be a place I visit,
but the place where I live.
Make my life one long conversation with You—
wordless or word-filled, raw or radiant,
but always real.
Speak, Lord.
I am finally listening.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
