A Prayer for Changing for the Better

A Prayer for Changing for the Better

Heavenly Father,
I come to You just as I am—
Flawed, tired, and ready for something new.
Ready to grow.
Ready to become who You always knew I could be.

Lord, I don’t want to stay the same.
I don’t want to be trapped by old habits,
Held back by fear,
Or defined by my past mistakes.

Break what needs to be broken in me.
Heal what needs to be healed.
Shape me like clay in the hands of a loving potter.
Make me better—not just different,
But deeper, wiser, kinder, and more like You.

Teach me to walk in humility,
To speak with grace,
To live with purpose,
And to love with open arms.

Where I’ve been selfish, make me generous.
Where I’ve been bitter, make me forgiving.
Where I’ve been proud, make me gentle.
Where I’ve been afraid, make me brave.

Change my mind, Lord—
Change the way I see myself,
The way I see others,
The way I see You.

I don’t want a surface makeover.
I want a soul transformation.
One step at a time,
Day by day,
Help me become more like Christ.

Thank You for not giving up on me.
Thank You for always seeing my potential,
Even when I couldn’t see it myself.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
