Give of yourself

Give of yourself

A Prayer for Generous Giving

Lord of Mercy and Abundance,
You have given me more than I could ever earn,
More breath than I could deserve,
More love than I could measure.

Teach me now to give as You give.
Not reluctantly, not calculating—
But freely, joyfully, and from the heart.
Help me see the face of Christ
In the hungry, the weary, the overlooked,
And remind me that when I give to them,
I am giving to You.

Let me not hold back when I can help.
Soften my grip on what You’ve placed in my hands.
Let my money become bread for the hungry,
Shelter for the homeless,
And hope for the hopeless.

If I am tempted to withhold,
Remind me:
You gave everything for me.
Your generosity poured out in blood,
That I might live in grace.

Make me a cheerful giver—
Not only of money,
But of time, attention, and presence.
Let me not just write checks,
But write love into action.

Bless what I give, Lord.
Stretch it farther than I can imagine,
And let it return to me not in wealth,
But in joy, peace, and a heart aligned with Yours.

Amen.
