She turns to her phone, but she's looking for reassurance from the wrong places: Instagram stories that highlight how rich she should be; Facebook friends with stories about their lavish vacations around the world, all while they discuss what brands are "in" right now. There is a reason why Jesus said (paraphrased), "It's hard to serve two masters." Interspersed between conversations on social media are rushed text messages in which she begs her friends to leave work early because of some emergency that only needs an hour of time--knowing deep down that there isn't really one.
You know without a doubt who will win and lose if this continues.
