Prayer for Protecttion

God who covers me with feathers (Psalm 91:4), under whose wings the truth is also a shield — shelter those I love today. Go before us as a pillar of cloud (Exodus 13:21), behind us as a rear guard (Isaiah 52:12). Surround us the way you surrounded Elisha at Dothan (2 Kings 6:17), with horses and chariots of fire we cannot see. Deliver us from evil — the kind that makes the news, and the kind that makes its bed quietly inside us. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory (Matthew 6:13). Amen.
