When Tears Speak Louder: A Prayer for Deep Sadness
Share
O God of the Brokenhearted,
I bring You my silence—heavy, wordless, aching. You see the sorrow I cannot name, the weight I cannot lift. When joy feels distant and every breath is a battle, be near. Let my tears be prayers when my voice cannot rise. Hold my sorrow without judgment, and cradle me in the shadow of Your wings.
You are the Man of Sorrows, acquainted with grief. You wept, too. So I trust that You understand this valley. Walk with me in it. Light one star in my night and one truth in my doubt: that I am not alone. That healing will come. That You still have plans for me.
Give me strength for one more hour. Hope for one more day. And when I cannot walk, carry me. In Your mercy, turn mourning into dancing—not with haste, but with holiness. Amen.
